Ingredients
Makes one serving
6 mint leaves
15ml sugar syrup*
25ml lime juice
50ml gin – if we fancy a cocktail we use Otways Forrest Gin, if we’d prefer a mocktail we use Banks Botanicals alc-free spirit
Ice
Mint leaf, to garnish
Summary
A special drink for a celebratory time of year. We’re just diving into the holidays, and that’s excuse enough to pull out the cocktail shaker and do a jig. We’re really proud to be stocking a local gin and a non-alc spirit that goes so well with this bright and zesty cock/mocktail. Both are award-winning, made in Australia and delicious on the sip – you can find them here.
Southside mock/cocktail
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake thoroughly for one minute then strain into chilled glass. Garnish with a single mint leaf.
To make a lighter ‘Southside Spritz’ divide the above, shaken cocktail between two glasses and top up with cold soda water.
Hints and Tips
- *To make simple syrup mix equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Wait until the syrup is cold before adding it to the cocktail mix.
