Seasonal produce guide

Our guide to seasonal fruit and veg available in Victoria and Australia. Eat fresh, eat delicious, and celebrate the seasons!

Note: This guide indicates what is available from Victoria and Murray Region growers, as well as interstate. Availability also reflects farming and storage methods that extend the usual seasons - like local apples kept in cold storage once harvested.

Jump to: Spring | Summer | Autumn | Winter

Spring

September - November

The wattle is flowering, chooks are laying and the stone fruit is blossoming! As the soil warms we feast on all things green and sprouting – asparagus, broad beans, broccolini and leafy bunches. Plus early strawberries lead us into a new season of fruit!

Summer

December - February

From early apricots to a mountain of tomatoes, what would summer be without the most delicious produce rainbow – fragrant basil and berries, all the colourful veg and of course a rotating feast of juicy stonefruit. Fresh, local produce sings with summer flavours – enjoy it all!

Autumn

March - May

Autumn harvests bring some of our favourite fruit and fleeting gems we think about all year – sweet figs and grapes, fresh picked apples and pears, plus feijoas, persimmons and quince. Cook up a storm, make use of every glut, and preserve the excess while you can. Plus look out for fresh pink pistachios, and chestnuts too!

winter

June - August

A time for nourishing meals, zingy citrus full of vitamins, and sweet root vegetables that create their own sugars underground (nature’s DIY anti-freeze), making them all the more impressive and delicious. Winter is also brassica season where every cabbage-cousin has a staring role – think broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels, romanesco, wombok, kale and kohlrabi.
