what we deliver and why

We proudly source and deliver quality fruit, veg and groceries you can trust.

Here you'll find out more about our entire range and the key considerations that guide our choices.

Fresh Fruit and Veg

No matter how you shop with us, we always:

๐ŸŒž Prioritise Victorian produce wherever possible, and always Australian.

๐ŸŒž Work with growers of all sizes for a diverse and resilient food system.

๐ŸŒž Pay our farmers fairly, valuing the true cost of food production.

Organic

What does it mean?

  • Our organic produce is grown with environmentally sensitive practices, without harmful synthetic pesticides and chemicals.

  • Prioritises soil health and farm biodiversity for strong, resilient plant growth.

  • Our range includes certified organic and biodynamic farms as well as a few small-scale growers who are not certified.

  • Supports a local food network of sustainable farms, with short supply chains and locally adapted varieties.

  • Values the true cost of growing high quality fruit and vegetables throughout the seasons.

A little more info:
Since CERES Fair Food began in 2010, we have proudly backed organic growers of all shapes and sizes, working together for a healthier and fairer food future. It just doesn’t get better (and tastier) than fresh seasonal produce grown with care.

The vast majority of our organic produce is sourced from certified organic and biodynamic growers, including our own small-but-mighty CERES farms: Joe’s Market Garden in Coburg and Honey Lane in East Brunswick.

We also supply produce direct from nearby small-scale growers who are not certified but produce high quality veg with organic and regenerative practices.

We pay fairly, stick with growers through the seasons, and are so proud to deliver the joy and flavour of their hard won harvests.

Sustainably Grown (IPM)

What does it mean?

  • IPM stands for Integrated Pest Management, a more holistic approach to conventional farming where the wider ecological interactions on farms are considered.

  • IPM produce is not organic but it means less reliance on pesticides and chemical sprays.

  • Farms encourage and protect beneficial insect species, like ladybirds, to control insect pests and minimise chemical inputs.

  • IPM produce offers a cost effective alternative to our organic range, with a lower environmental impact than conventional produce.

A little more info:
In 2023 we started to work with a selection of conventional growers committed to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. Over the last few years our range has grown and our relationships with IPM growers have widened.

These farms are not organic but by employing IPM strategies they can use far fewer chemical sprays than other conventional farms – strategies like beneficial insect use, crop rotation and green manures minimise chemical use, residues and water contamination.

Weโ€™re keen to support farmers growing in a more holistic way than traditional conventional practices and want to ensure our community has the best produce options available for their budget.
